Dale Earndhart Zippo: The Legend and His Son

With the NASCAR's approval, there have been several Dale Earndhart Zippo lighters bearing the names and racing car numbers of the late legendary racer Dale Earndhart, Sr. and his son (also a famous racer) Dale Earndhart, Jr.

Both son and father had been known to be great racers. Dale Earndhart, Sr., in memory of his racing nicknames has an "Intimidator" lighter design. It is called the Intimidator and shows an old style cartoon of the racer leaning on his ever popular number 3. The number 3 pertains to Earndhart's official car.

While Earndhart, Sr. was most popular for racing stock cars in NASCAR (winning around sixty races in his lifetime), his son, on the other hand, drives the # 88 National Guard Chevrolet Impala SS. Besides being the son of a legend and a relative and ascendant of a famous racing family, he has also won a couple of sprint races, earning him his own Dale Earndhart Zippo lighter design.
Dale Earndhart, Sr. is depicted in couple of Zippo lighters. These lighters show him either beside the # 3 (a slanted digit colored white with a thin red stroke outline) or above a drawing of his race car. This one comes in brushed chrome while the other is in high polish chrome.

Dale Earndhart, Jr. has his own 88 Zippo lighter series. The 88 is shown as a bold and slanted digit colored red with very thin white outlines. This is set on a green background or a black one with colored speed effects. Dale Jr. is usually writter below the number of the Dale Earndhart Zippo.
